What should I expect at my first dentist appointment?
- We will ask about your general health, how your teeth have been since your last visit to a dentist, and if you are taking any medication. On your first visit to our dental practices in Edinburgh, we conduct an extensive oral health examination. We will also carry out any necessary treatments, tests, or x-rays if we feel they are necessary.

What do I need to do if I have a dental emergency?
- Get in contact with us as soon as possible. We will be able to give you advice until you are able to be seen by the emergency dentist. In most cases, your emergency appointment will be booked for the same day.

How can I maintain good oral hygiene at home?
- Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, floss daily, and use an antiseptic mouthwash. Additionally, maintain a balanced diet and limit sugary snacks and drinks.

Bruntsfield Dental is a lovely practise. Going in makes me feel comfortable every time. The practise is well-lit, modern and staff are incredibly nice. My usual dentist, Mr. Dunsmore, is calm, highly professional and explains everything in detail. If you're not a fan of going to the dentist, I believe you would feel very comfortable here.
